Description
Red Oak Island stools. Mortise and tenon joinery and 1 piece tops.
Height: 27″ Width: 10 7/8″
These stools were made from a Red Oak log that we received from our local metro municipality (as a replacement for a white oak log they mistakenly removed from our front yard). I milled the wood from the log into slabs, and from slabs to the parts you see here. I used a band saw, table saw and hollow-chisel mortiser to cut the joinery, and fine tuned everything with chisels. Key features are: tapered leg bottoms, padded/threaded inserts in the bottom of the feet and a solid one-piece top.
